Choice of Law and Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, English law. To the extent possible in the applicable jurisdiction, the parties irrevocably agree that the courts of England shall (subject to the paragraph below) have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute which may arise out of, under, or in connection with these terms and conditions. For the exclusive benefit of wrighthand.net and to the extent possible in the applicable jurisdiction, it shall retain the right to bring or enforce proceedings as to the substance of the matter in the courts of the country of your residence or, where these terms and conditions are entered into in the course of your trade or profession, the country of the place of business in which you agreed to these terms and conditions or (if different) the country of your principal place of business.
The intention is to eventually operate a "PAID FOR" subscription service. By subscribing to one of these Paid For Services, as well as observing the general terms and conditions, you will also be expected to agree to the 'PAID FOR' terms and conditions. Wrighthand.net will reserve the right to vary or terminate the intended Paid For Services and will not guarantee that a Paid For Service will remain Paid For or that a Free-of-Charge Service will remain free-of-charge.
Under such "PAID FOR" services you will agree to pay any subscription fees at the rates in effect when the charges are incurred. You must provide wrighthand.net with complete and accurate payment information. In the case of unauthorised payments wrighthand.net reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Paid For Services. If wrighthand.net does not receive payment authorisation or any authorisation is subsequently cancelled, we may immediately terminate or suspend your access to any Paid For Services.
Wrighthand.net will charge you in British Pounds Sterling. As described in these terms and conditions, some wrighthand.net Content is made available as part of a Paid For subscription service. You are not permitted to deliberately attempt to access that content without paying the applicable subscription fee. Any attempt to do so is a breach of these Terms and Conditions and may also constitute an offence as a matter of law. Wrighthand.net fully reserves all rights it may have to enforce its rights under these terms and conditions or at law (any failure to do so is not a waiver of these rights).
Cancelling or Changing your Subscription
You may cancel or amend your subscription at any time by contacting our Customer Services team at firstname.lastname@example.org. Any cancellation or change will be effective once wrighthand.net receives notice of it.
Changes to Terms and Conditions
The above Terms and Conditions were revised 13th December 2012.
The material on wrighthand.net is available to all viewers subject to copyright and Terms and Conditions restrictions.
- Login users will be able to gain access to additional downloadable material, including newsletters / fingerposts; sample subscription paid-for-material and list of current projects..
- Subscribing users will have access to additional knowledge-base and knowledge-structuring material including evaluation protocols, archived material and on-line help. Accredited practitioners or intending practitioners, will classed as knowledge engineers. Accredited practitioner status is gained by (i) completing a number of criterion-referenced tasks (ii) running a family / work-based workshop and (iii) periodic attendance at quality assurance work-shops.
Eligibility for practitioners status: the practical philosophy of wrighthand.net is constructivist and focuses on helping children and adults to thrive in their worlds. It does so by framing their problems in faceted, holistic, systemic and puzzling terms and not atomist, reductionist, theory-driven terms. Those in tune with this ecological perspective will be considered eligible for accredited practitioner status. Those not of this mind-set or world-view will find wrighthand.net of little benefit.
